Mid State Fair

We went to the Mid State Fair last night in Paso Robles. The weather was pretty nice, although a little warm. It was nice to go though, as we had not gone last year. Michael needed to be there as part of the Klife staff & introduce the Christian rock band "Skillet". We weren't too sure on how Maddie would do at the concert. It didn't take long for us to find out. It was just a few seconds after the music started & she wanted out of there. It was way too loud, for her & us! So Matt, Maddie & I made a quick exit & went & enjoyed a corn dog. Michael caught up with us & was able to spend some time with us until he needed to be back to the stage for the second show of Skillet. We took Maddie over to see the animals & I think she enjoyed seeing the sheep & goats. The cows
were a bit big for her! Lindsay stayed for the concert & enjoyed it. After Michael was done on
stage, we took off & hit In & Out for a burger.

When we got back to Morro Bay, Lindsay met up with a friend & her Mom & went home with them. Then they were off today to go to Spirit West Coast in Monterey. They will be camping there for 3 nights & Lindsay will be home sometime on Sunday.

Girls Night In

Vanessa Spiller came up to spend the afternoon & evening with Lindsay. Why they were out goofing around town, they came up with this idea to surprise me.
After a yummy dinner of barbecued hamburgers & hot dogs, the guys went to see "Dark Knight" at our theater & we got down to business. The girls went to the store & got M&Ms & 4 half gallons of ice cream!!! Then we got the movie started, "27 Dresses". Maddie was pretty wired with the M&Ms & iced tea, so she made it pretty interesting trying to watch the movie. But we did make it through. We did have a fun time! Thanks girls! So, when are we going to see the "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2"?

GNO

GNO...girls night out! We finally got our schedules to work out & we went to dinner & then followed up with some retail therapy! We had a yummy dinner at Cabo San Luis in SLO. We only spent 3 hours there-boy, how time flies! It sure didn't seem like we were there that long. Then we went to Mervyns. Love those clearance sales! From there I needed to go down to Oceano to pick up Lindsay & a friend at the beach. Since we were in the area, I HAD to stop at Walmart. LOL I ran into Julie there! Our "therapy" continued! These nights just don't happen often enough. Friends are a treasured gift! Now if only Rachelle could have been here with us...someday!

24 years!

Today we celebrated our 24th wedding anniversary! Yep, 24 years!
Matt babysat Maddie for us while we went out to California Pizza Kitchen for dinner-yummy! Then we shopped in downtown San Luis Obispo.
I love you honey!

Football camp

This week Matt had a 4-day football camp at MBHS. Camp ran from about 9:30-3:30. He came home pooped every day. One day he even had 2 basketball games that night! We were very fortunate to have a nice marine layer for most of each day, so the weather was cooler. I think he enjoyed the camp, but is glad it's over.

Cornstarch & Shoes!

Madeline & I had so much fun playing with the cornstarch & water mixture. It's really cool how it goes from a liquid to a solid to a liquid.

Lindsay had Madeline laughing so hard today. It was a good old belly laugh! It was so funny. It's weird what makes this kid laugh! Lindsay would put a shoe on her head & then pretend to sneeze. Madeline thought that was the funniest thing! Go figure!

Basketball

We finished up our summer basketball season last night. I think the boys had 10 games in a month. It was a good experience for them-they had both the varsity & jv coaches as their coach. I didn't get a chance to take a team shot until after they had turned in their jerseys.

Morro Bay Fire Departmnet

Our 1-2 year-olds Parent Participation class went on a field trip to the Morro Bay Fire Department today. They allowed the kids to just run all around & climb. They loved it. Towards the end of our visit, they even got called out on an emergency. So we got to watch them leave with their lights going. A fun time was had by all.
Thank you MBFD!

Official Unofficial Employee

Today Madeline & I went grocery shopping, like we usually do on Monday's. This is what she got today-her own name tag! Madeline loves to play with the checkers & the baggers name tags as we are checking out. They usually give them one of theirs to play with they are bagging our groceries. Well today, Dawn, had made one just for Madeline! She is now the "official unofficial Albertsons employee" & must wear her name tag in each time we go! :) When Dawn put Maddie's name tag on her, she wasn't quite sure what to do & just kind of looked at it in awe. She did tell Dawn thank you. As you can tell by the pictures, she LOVES that name tag! As you can see, she is checking herself out in the mirror & kissing it in another!
Thanks Dawn!

Flip this Room

"What do you think about this?" Michael cringes when he hears those words come out of my mouth. LOL
I got the wild hair to rearrange our living room. I was starting to feel claustrophobic, with the big 8 foot table holding the new TV. So after moving furniture around and getting rid of some things, we feel like we have enlarged our living room. It feels very open & spacious. Madeline seems to enjoy the extra room too!

Out of quarantine

Maddie had her 25th month birthday on Saturday, 7-12-08. Her horsey also came out of quarantine on that same day. (The poor pony had been recalled in March or April for throwing kids. The new piece finally arrived yesterday & daddy fixed it.)
Now we hear the horsey sing "I'm a pretty pony, clippety-clop clippety-clop. Such a pretty pony, clippety-clop, clippety-clop..."

Puppy Chow

Now this is the way to spend your Saturday...chocolate, chicks & chow! (puppy chow)
We had a great visit with Juel who is home for her daddy's birthday. Every time she is here, we always make some kind of special treat-Oreo balls, brownies & today, was puppy chow! Yummy chocolatey goodness. It's probably a good thing she doesn't come home too terribly often-we would weigh a ton! LOL
It is always so wonderful to see her!
Love ya Juel!!!

San Francisco

Not being a morning person, 5:30am is ugly! Michael's alarm went off at that time. Seems Madeline's did too! Maybe she was just excited about the day. :) Most of us were feeling a tad under the weather (we have been battling some colds towards the end of the week).

We left home at 7:15 to head to San Francisco for a Dodgers/Giants baseball game at AT&T Park. Madeline traveled really well. We kept thinking she would go back to sleep because she had woken up so early. But nope! She started getting a little cranky about 3 hours into the drive. So we stopped at a grocery store & got out & stretched our legs. Bought some bananas & grapes. Madeline inhaled the banana & even ate some of the grapes.

About another hour in the car & we were in San Francisco looking for the parking lot next to Borders (that my brother Greg told me about). Found it & it was just across the street from AT&T park! Amazing! We loved how convenient it was.

I loved the ball park. It was really pretty-maybe it's all the brick. It is a fairly new ball park, opened in 2000.

We met the Griley's there. (Thanks to Kelly for ordering our tickets for us!) We had seats in left center field. The weather was really nice-warm with a light breeze. Maddie was starting to get restless, so we went & got some food. She ate a little, but was just really tired. (Remember, she got up at 5:30am & it was now around 2 or so.) So from about the 4th inning on, I put her in the stroller & we just walked around the ball park. The level we were on, you could go all the way around the park. I thought maybe she would go to sleep, but nope! She made it through the whole game. Towards the end, we went & stood up in front of the big glove sculpture (which you can see in one of the pictures). After the game, we snapped a few family shots & then she fell asleep. She slept until we got to the car-about 20 minutes. Then she was wide awake & in a good mood to boot!

We met the Grileys for dinner at Chilis in some town that was about an hour outside of San Fransisco. Stopped for gas in Salinas (it was $4.51-cheaper then MB) & got Maddie's jammies on. Not long after that, she was asleep, about 9:30. We got home about 10:45 & she went to bed without waking up!

She did wake up today about 7:30, went down for an early nap & then woke up very cranky. Seems she may have a touch of the flu. Running a fever & vomiting. Poor baby. The good side-she wanted me to hold her! I loved it, but felt so bad for her. She fell asleep on me about 8:15 & I put her to bed. Hoping she sleeps well tonight & feels 100% better tomorrow!

Happy 5th of July!

In order to get as many of my family as possible together to celebrate the 4th of July, we did it on the 5th! We were going to barbecue hamburgers & hot dogs at my folks house, but for some reason the propane tank was empty on our barbecue. So that prompted another miracle-my Mom cooking! Yep! I even got a picture of it! LOL

We did have a yummy dinner of hamburgers, hot dogs, baked beans, fruit salad, chips & olives! Then for dessert when had angel food cake with strawberries & vanilla ice cream with Nanaw's homemade hot fudge sauce!

We had to call it an early night, so we could attempt to get to bed early because we have to get up at 5:30 the next morning. (Dodger/Giant baseball game in San Fransisco at AT&T Park)
