2nd Gotcha Day!

Wow! It has been 2 years now since Maddie has joined our family. It is hard to imagine life without her. It hasn't always been easy-I AM getting older now!, but it is sweet to try to enjoy everything with her that just wasn't possible when Lindsay & Matt were little. It is really amazing to watch them play with her & how much she really loves them!

Here is the first picture we have of Madeline. She is 6 months old. (12/06)

Here she is, moments after she was handed to us & joined our family 3/27-07

Our 1st Gotcha Day-3-27-08 Maddie is 1 year & 9 months old

Stickers!

Give a 2 year old stickers & this is what you get! Maddie had a blast putting the foam stickers all over her face & then looking at herself in the mirror. (She did manage to get some stickers on paper too-that's the background!)

Kite Flying

We've had some pretty windy days, so it was time to bring the kites out! We started out just flying them in the street, but decided we needed to go to the park where there was more open space (& no overhead wires)! Maddie was having trouble understanding the concept that you have to fly the kite into the wind for it stay up. So she would run & run into the wind & her kite would fly, but then she would run out of room & turn around & the kite would just fall down. She would get so frustrated. Poor thing. I'm not sure who enjoyed flying kites more-Lindsay or Maddie?!

Maddie gets a real haircut!

Maddie had her first real haircut yesterday. She's had her bangs trimmed before, but this time we got all of her hair trimmed. She was still pretty wiggly. I think we took a good 2 inches off the length. I sure wouldn't want to cut kids hair!

MBHS Frosh Basketball MVP

Monday night we went to the Morro Bay High School winter sports banquet. After a delicious dinner of tri-tip, beans, salad & garlic bread, we split up into our sports. Boys basketball went to the new gym where awards were handed out. Much to our surprise but utter delight, Matt was awarded the MVP for the Frosh team! Thanks to Kelly Griley, Edward's mom, for all the great pictures she took during the season. We really enjoyed the Frosh coach Kevin Kriebel. He was a great role model for the boys.

Camping in the Great Indoors!

I stink at building forts! Every time I build one, they always fall down-especially with the help of a 2 1/2 year old & 2 kitties. Michael put the tent up in the middle of the living room & Maddie just loved it! Look at those smiles. We all had a blast playing in it with her.

Field Trip

A few weeks ago, Maddie & I went into SLO to Central Coast Gymnastics with our 2 year old parent participation class. What a fun time we had! They set up several different circuits that we went through. By far the kids favorite one was sliding into the foam pool! Heck, I wanted to do it too! Sure wore the kids out. :)
Hmmm, this could be a great place to do a birthday part y...

Pizza, bowling & ice cream-who needs anything more?

For Matt's 15th birthday, he wanted to have just the family get together & eat pizza, go bowling, & have ice cream. So we did! We went to his (& Michael's) favorite pizza place-Village Host in SLO & had pizza-sausage & pepperoni. Then we headed to Cal Poly Mustang Lanes to bowl. We were surprised that we only had to wait about 10 minutes to get a lane on a Saturday night! Maddie even tried to roll the ball a few times. We won't even talk about the scores. haha After bowling 2 games, we headed down to Arroyo Grande for ice cream at Doc Burnstein's. Yummy goodness.
