It's been a fun few weeks for me & my health.
A few weeks ago I came down with a staph infection in my right arm. I have some pictures, but they're kind of gross looking! Don't want to make any one sick! :)
The lump got to be a pretty good size, maybe the size of a ping pong ball. I went to the doctor & she started me on antibiotics 4 times a day for a 10 day course. She wanted to give me the strongest she could, short of putting me in the hospital. After being on the med for about 7 days, I started breaking out in spots on my chest. The next morning I had more spots & then my throat started to feel "thick" & my tongue felt weird. Of course, this was a Saturday. After a little frantic call to the doctor, I stopped taking the antibiotics.
The spots kept multiplying & then started to itch! By the next morning, I was scratching soooo much. It was terrible. Michael & the kids did not want to enable me, so they wouldn't help & scratch my back. I kept a fork close by! I took some Benadryl & slept like a baby. It really helps! I didn't wake myself up scratching.
I was still really itchy & spotty the next day, so I took some more benadryl-I shouldn't take that stuff during the day! I couldn't wait to get Maddie to bed for her nap. I slept a solid 2 hours!
Well it's now 7 days after the allergic reaction to the antibiotic & my spots are gone!!!! Yeah! I still have an ugly spot on my arm & that will take a while to go away. But it will, with time. SO that's my tale of woe!

yay! Spotty is spotty anymore!
Do you find that it's harder to take care of yourself now that you've got a little one in the house again? I don't have time to get sick!! I wish I had known you were down for the count... I could've brought you all a meal or something. I had that reaction to penecillin a number of years ago, and no doctor will give it to me anymore, for fear that I may stop breathing next time! So glad you're feeling better now!
You really better take better care of yourself. I bet a trip to NE would help : )
